The Idaho Statesman and Journal Broadcast Group are proud to join the City of Boise to produce the 2009 Fourth of July Fireworks. We appreciate your volunteer support in the past and hope you will consider helping out again in 2009! Volunteers help make this community event a success. We welcome all sorts of volunteer support, ranging from friendly faces at the information booth to folks securing the perimeter to help keep everyone safe. Volunteers need to be 18 or older. Volunteers are needed the 4th of July and the day after to help with clean up. Volunteer shifts are as follows:

July 4 – 6 a.m. - 10 a.m., 8 a.m. to noon, noon to 4 p.m., 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., 8 p.m. to midnight
July 5 – 8 a.m. to noon

Volunteers are asked to attend the following meeting:
Thursday, 6/25, 4:00 p.m., in Ann Morrison Park (east of the fountain)

New Volunteer Opportunity beginning in July: Ministry of Presence

Volunteers provide fellowship, conversation, compassionate listening with residents. Activities might include playing cards, chess, or reading to children in the family shelter or simply being present with another. Two volunteers can be scheduled for this each night. 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm. A training session will be scheduled in early July for individuals who are interested. Please email for information on training dates.

bottled water (to distribute to residents to carry with them during the day - keep this in mind throughout the summer months)
