Boise Life Day's are Community Service Project-
Boise life days are designed to let the people of Boise give back to Boise in tangible ways. This could be anything from a project helping people in need to cleaning up trash around the city. We love Boise,we love the people, the environment, the foothills, the river... and we feel that it is our job as citizens of Boise to give back. Below you will read about current and past projects. Many of these projects are more than just one time events, they are a commitment to keep doing until the job is done.

July 08 BoiseLife day- Clean up the Park-
Thanks to the 4 people that came out and helped clean up. It felt so good to see the park redeemed back to the awesome place we all love to take the family to hang out and have fun. Just a note for next year... if everyone picked up after themselves we wouldn't have to wake up at 6am and go clean up trash!!! Thanks again to the city, news 6 and all the other sponsors that put on an awesome fireworks show.
May 08 Boise Life day- Clean up Table Rock- May 24th
Thanks to all who helped us clean up table rock again! We only had about 25 people but we worked hard and got the job done. We hope that when we clean table rock again in the fall that we will be able to get more people to help, however we got the job done this time. We gathered up 32 bags of trash and 7 bags of of glass, plastic and cans to recycle. We also painted over the graffiti and just had a fun time redeeming back the place we all love.
Thanks to Idaho power for donating 2 generators so we could use shop vacs to suck up the glass. Also we want to thank World Cycle, Performance High, Boise Architectural project & Trademark Church for supporting the project. Thank you News Channel 6 for covering the story.
April 08 Boise Life day- Releaf Boise-
We had a fun time planting trees around the North End for Releaf Boise. The turn out was awesome and the Bosielife team joined up with a total of 170 volunteers to plant over 90 trees in Boise. I know by far that our team had the most fun and it was cool to make some new friends as we invested in the future of Boise together. Thanks to all who helped and to the City of Boise for putting all of this together.
March 08 Boise Life day- "seeds that Grow"
Our Boiselife day for March was "seeds that grow". We took spring bulbs, wildflower and other indigenous plants/seeds and planted them locally around Boise. Our focus was on two corners in Boise that needed some love. At the corner of 27th & Stewart (Jerry\'s Market) we built flower boxes and planted plants and flowers in them. On the corner or Warm Springs/Hot Springs we tilled up the spot, put down landscape fabric and planted plants and flowers. Both of these corners look awesome and we hope that it will encourage others to clean up other parts of Boise and plant flowers and plants that don\'t consume so much water. We could not of done this without the volunteers and our sponsors Trademark Church & Zamzows!
February 08 Boise Life day: Helping hands recap-
This past February we worked in the basement storage area of the IRC. The purpose of this project was to organize the area that the IRC uses to gather and distribute materials to newly arrived refugees. This was a very important task and is crucial for properly helping refugees get their basic needs met as they hit the ground running in Boise. We still need more help to continue this project and are looking for someone who can give a hour or two a week to sort the newly arrived donations. Please contact us by email to josh@boiselife.org if you can help us with this project.
Boise Life Day: Project Ride- Recap
I want to start by thanking everyone who made this project possible. From the Boise High class that collected the bikes to the people who donated their bikes to the people from Boise bike project that led the charge to fix the bikes. To all the hard working people at the IRC that worked on all the details to the media that covered the event. The list goes on and on but I want to make sure that I thank Mayor Bieter for coming out and showing his support. Yet the list is not complete until I thank all the sponsors that helped fund the event and the 120 new bike helmets that we at Boiselife.org donated to the project. These sponsors gave their time, energy and or resources so that this project could be a success. Not only did the sponsors invest in the lives of the many refugee families but they invested in Boise!
Thanks to: Active Chiropractic ,World Cycle, Performance High ,Trademark Church
Tomcat printing, Boise Architectural project, Boise bicycle project
However the story can be told the best by the many lives that were touched in a personal and practical way. You see these bikes were not just donated so that these refugees could ride a bike around Boise. No, it goes much deeper that that. These bikes will be the only transportation that many of these refugees will ever have. Because they now have a bike they can ride to the grocery store, ride to the doctor and even better…have a ride to work.
I know from personal experience that the refugee family that we are mentoring have been so blessed by this project. They were so excited that now they have a way to get out and find a job. Now they have a way to get back in forth from work, now they have a whole new outlook on life in Boise.
The project was a success and over 85 bikes were given away to some of the newest residents in Boise- the refugees. This project doesn’t stop here! We still have many more bikes to collect, many more to fix and many more lives to change through this project. If you want to help us in this ongoing project then please contact us.
October 2007: Table Rock Cleanup
We organized our first Boise Life Day to Clean up Table Rock. Boise life days are a part of what we do at boiselife.org. I guess you could say it is in our DNA to give back to Boise and use our hands and feet to serve others and serve the community. So we handed out flyers and talked to many business owners in preparation for our first Boise Life Day. Although we did not gain a sponsor for the day, we are excited about what may happen in the future.
The first task was to serve Boise and clean up Table Rock. Success was not the number of people who showed up, but the fact that we care enough about Boise to come out and clean it up. Our goal was to get 50 people to come. We did a lot of prep work to pull it off, but weren\'t sure if anyone would show up.
Well they did--56 people, to be exact! Families, kids, and individuals came together. We picked up 37 bags of trash in 2 hours and sucked up tons of glass with 3 shop vacs. We had to rent a generator to get power, but it was worth it. We painted over graffiti that was all over the huge bench at the top. Afterwards, we gathered to relax and enjoy Papa John\'s pizza. It was awesome to see all of these people working hard to take back a place we all love.
October 2007: TAG day- totally abolish graffiti
Boise Life Day #2 was thrown together quick but we couldn\'t miss a chance to team up with the Boise Police Dep. and the Mayor\'s Office to clean up graffiti around Boise. We joined up with others who love our city and are willing to do our part to make it a better place. Over 150 of us hit the streets and put some energy into cleaning up the graffiti around town. We were broken up in teams of 6-10 with each team being led by a community Police Officer. It was fun to work side by side with these awesome men and women who serve us everyday. This is a never ending task yet something that is important for us to do our part in and share in the mess. What a perfect way to live out a unselfish life and serve Boise!
