Two local businesses redefine reuse
by Mathias Morache
David Gapen tears apart a typewriter as a couple of bearded boys build 'bots.
The environmental buzzwords of the 1990s--reduce, reuse, recycle--aren't heard as much in this century. The new term is green, an ambiguous banner used to label everything from carbon offsets to cleaning products to garden flowers that don't suck up too much water. Does creating green art, then, mean crafting a project that is environmental…

I sit here and realize, that all people are different and yet long to be equal. Faces, speech and body shapes change like the wind. Some have laptops and others are toothless. Few flip through the pages of forms, filling out page after page looking for hope... while others can't clearly say or spell their name. We all live a life but few of us claim responsibility for our own. All want their space but few have the will-power to change. Shifting the blame while all looking to be the same. Books a…

Morning Owl Farm's Plant Sale is Thursday, May 14, from 4-8 pm at 7020
Pet Haven Lane. We're off of Warm Springs Avenue, up a short dirt
lane. C'mon up!
All tomatoes, eggplants and peppers will be sold in 4" pots and priced
at $1.50 each. Nothing you'll buy will cost more than a buck and a
half. We want to sell plants, not compost them!
Unfortunately, we had some disappointment with an organic fertilizer
we used for the first time this year. The quantities suggested turned
out to be not quite…

After creating Boiselife.org almost 2 years ago, I can say we are learning as we go. The main problem is that we make created a big monster that can only be feed by one person. By that I mean that the site is getting over 17,000 hits a month, 500 new visitors, and 87% of visitors are bookmarking us. Yet all the info must go through me. This has kept the site from being what it was intended to be. We are leading a movement not just a website of links. Please help us as we turn this over to you- t…
