Boise city volunteer request
Hello All,
Boise Parks & Recreation, KaBOOM!, the Southeast Boise Neighborhood Association and Alberstons/SUPERVALU would like to invite you and your family to join your neighbors and community in constructing a brand new playground at Kroeger Park!! Nearly 200 volunteers will help bring this project to fruition and we would love to have you be a part it. You can volunteer in a variety of capacities, including:
Prep Day, Thursday, August 6, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Ten volunteers are needed to help get the project ready for Build Day. During Prep Day, you will help set up tents, pre-drill post holes for the playground equipment, spread drainage rock, unpack and inventory the playground equipment, cut lumber for benches and tables, etc.
Build Day, Saturday, August 8, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Fifty to Sixty volunteers are needed to work the volunteer registration table, serve breakfast and lunch to the volunteers, and help construct the playground itself.
Build Captains - Ten volunteers are needed to serve as Build Captains during Build Day. Build Captains will attend an hour long training on Prep Day, Thursday, August 6, and lead a team of volunteers on an assigned project on Build Day. Build Captains should be available from 6:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Build Day.
Attached is the playground the neighborhood has chosen to construct in Kroeger Park. We feel that it is a wonderful design that will fit nicely into park and neighborhood with a large variety of fun play events for the neighborhood children.
Bring your friends and family for the day to participate in this wonderful event. We will have music, food (breakfast and lunch will be served), and entertaining activities for the kids. Come Join the Party!
Pre-registration is required. Groups will be limited to 10 volunteers or less. Volunteers must be 18 years of age to participate in the build.
